Welcome to the official website of the International Conference on STEM Education 2024!

In celebration of the University of the Philippines National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development’s (UP NISMED) 60th anniversary, the Institute is proud to host the International Conference on STEM Education (ICSTEM) 2024!

UP NISMED is a research and extension unit of the University of the Philippines committed to raise the level of science and mathematics education in the country. UP NISMED believes that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education play a vital role in nation building. With the recent advancements in technology, exploring and understanding the opportunities and challenges that it presents in transforming STEM education is important. Moreover, rethinking student learning outcomes in STEM in ways where students learn the interconnectedness of the STEM disciplines should be accomplished through well-designed curriculum and innovative pedagogy. Thus, ICSTEM 2024 is organized with the theme, Advancing STEM Education through Emerging Technologies, Innovative Pedagogies, and Responsive Curricula. This underscores that STEM education should utilize the capabilities and potential of technology, a well-designed curriculum, and innovative pedagogies to create enabling learning experiences for students that are relevant to the fast-changing world.

ICSTEM 2024 aims to:

  • convene educators, researchers, policy makers, teachers, and students to share and discuss ideas, research findings, and initiatives related to advancing STEM education; and
  • foster collaboration among participants in addressing issues related to curriculum reforms, interdisciplinary, assessment, emerging technologies and innovative pedagogies, transformative leadership, and promoting sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusivity in STEM education.

Share your work at the ICSTEM 2024. Engage in discussions with fellow researchers and education practitioners as you examine the current trends and issues in STEM education. Plus discover the beauty of the Philippines! Join us on 22 to 23 November 2024 for the ICSTEM 2024! Submit an abstract now!
